This command exports the scene as an ASCII file and changes the version number on it to whatever you specify. In most cases this allows the scene to be opened with older versions of Maya. This process is usually done by hand by opening the ascii file in a text editor. Consider this my little time saving contribution to the community. This file contains a version for Maya 4.5 & 5.0.
