This is a great tool to align a pivot to 3 points.

USE:
1) Select 3 points. (They can be poly vertices or CVs)

2) The first point will be the origin location,
The second point will be the direction in the X,
The third point will be the direction in the Y.

3) execute 1 of the following:
mdAlignAxis(0); - This will leave the pivot wherever it currently is
mdAlignAxis(1); - This will move the pivot to the first point you chose.

NOTE: I had to use a freeze transform at one point in the script, so the vertex normals can get really screwed up from this. If this happens, hopefully you haven't created any UV layouts, but you can just export it as a DXF and bring it back in. This tends to clean up models so that vertex normals are not an issue.

I hope you enjoy it. I've found it a must if you work with pre-made geometry like CAD data, or if you ever get a .3ds file or something where the pivots are frozen.

Let me know if you think of any options you'd like.
