OK, Here's the epitome of what I've been working on as far as pivot orientation goes... :)

To use this script do the following:

For Polygons:
1) Select a face
2) Run the following command:
mdAlignPivotToFace(0);

The pivot will rotate to the normal of the face.

For SubDivision surfaces in Poly Proxy Mode:
1) Select a face
2) Run the following command:
mdAlignPivotToFace(1);

The pivot will rotate to the normal of the face.

I hope this helps people out. It's been something I've been trying to figure out for a while. Especially a way to do it without using a freeze transform. This didn't work with SubD's and it sometimes would screw up vertex normals of objects.

Hope you enjoy and let me know if there's something I can do to improve it.

Dobie

1.1 -
Script automatically places the Move tool into "Along Rotation Axis" mode. This is needed so the axis is pointed correctly.
