this looks extremely useful ... i tried it with two older character rigs , and the initial-bindings are - as i expected them to be . much better than , the maya initial-smooth-binding . especially i like what i see , on the fingers of my characters . each finger is really-cool weighted , so the fingers can be rotated independently right after skinning the mesh . this might be really cool for creating fast skinnings , e.g. for previs-rigs , or for testing joint-placement ( i also like a lot the knee and elbow-areas , very smooth ... for initialBindSkin ) super !!! -
Hi man, great frontend, tried it at home on a couple of older rigs, Hi Man, thanks for adding 8.5 support, works great! -
bingo... but what about pros n cons fo some meshes its workin fine but i tried on coupple of meshes.. where it gave errors like duplicated edge..aborting.. and "error reading lin ..." and "encountered exception while weighting mesh" so would you suggest that what to do in this regard i mean to fix these problems .. prerequesits ...u know..??? -
Great! Thank you very much to wrote this code for maya, it's what everybody wants when they setups characters.. -
This a really nice tool. The picture caught my eye, and it did exactly what that picture showed. The shoulder is always a problem area, and it is going to speed up the process of painting those weights a ton. The legs and elbows looked almost perfect. -
Is there a way to remove certain joints from the algorithm ? (just like bind to select joints only) ? Sometimes the .exe seems stuck ("Done... X full splits" I think), so I abort it (ctrl-c), weights have been applied but on end joints too. Could it be that my naming is wrong? I'll try to post a sample file. Is there a way to view the .skel file ? Thanks for your work. -
How come there is no .dll and there are these .out and .skel files? Did I get the wrong version of the download?
