I've tried to run it on maya 2017 with no luck...
I just put the script in my maya script folder then loaded it maya's mel script editor tab, ran it but nothing.

    If you're still having issues with this, I fixed it by 1) Making sure the script is in Documents\maya\2017\scripts 2) In the mel script editor, run [attrConnector;] no brackets. Hope this helps.
