Create a spiral of any shape!
Simply make a NURBS cylinder, a cone or a sphere then deform it to the desired shape(tweaking, deforms...). Then open the Spirlizer select your surface enter the number of turns and you got a spiral in the shape you modeled with your nurbs bevor. This script allows you to make any shape of spiral.
