Select parts of your mesh defined by a vetex/edgeloop.
Installation and usage:
1. Copy fillSelection.mel to C:\Users\[USER]\Documents\maya\[MAYAVERSION]\scripts
2. Restart Maya
Instructions:
Due to a bug in maya I had to remove the pre-selection highlighting in the 2015/2016 version.

.click to select the desired part of the mesh

.click on a face in the desired area to select the shell.
