Limpia la scena de todo lo que no es necesario, materiales, display layers y render layers que no esten siendo usados, mas que nada limpia nombres, cuando importas algo a la scena los nombres aparecen con el nombre de la scena importada como prefix, cuando copias y pegas algo aparece el molestoso "pasted__", incluso si sabes como borrar los prefix y los pasted con las herramientas incluidas en maya "prefix hierarchy names" & "search and replace name", logras limpiar los nombres de los objetos pero los nodos conectados a ese objeto o DAG objects como skin, blaindShapes, deformadores, mutiply divides, reverse, etc, aun sigen con esos molestosos nombres que incluso en ocasiones no permiten trabajar rapido.
Para eso es esta tan util herramienta, que te permitira trabajar ordenado y con la scena limpia.
