I know that you are aware (no pun intended) that neighbor awareness is a desired feature. I personally think that this would put this tool leaps and bounds ahead of the built in geometry paint tool. This feature, (which should not be enabled by default due to increased cpu usage) would be so very useful. I would be glad to assist you in its development.
