    Unfortunately this script no longer works in Maya 2018, perhaps because of updates to Python, and errors out at step 2.

    EDIT: Ah Wicked! I got it to work on the whole object by making sure the object is perfectly centered in the middle of the scene. (perhaps I missed this in the documentation) This is great! I was pulling my hair out, Autodesk may as well just remove the solid shatter effect, it is completely useless. this works, thanks so much! Will continue testing it in 2015 just to point out, i'm only using the last button, generating the locators manually Hi There! This script works fine overall (maya's solid shatter is now completely useless every time), but it seems to always have a problem on the top of the model (box, sphere, all shapes tested), where it misses out pieces, always on the top. This is the only shatter that seems stable in maya 2015, I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar issues and found a work around? cheers, and thanks for the script!

    yes, works in Maya 2014 too, except for the step 3. (you need to delete all the locators which are outside the object, by hand prior using step 4.)

    I'm having the same problem as TheSkid, where step 3 causes maya to crash without giving any errors. I've tried reopening maya several times and the same thing keeps happening. Any ideas? (maya2011 x64)
