In case you've got the portable version of Notepad++:
1. Put insertExt.ini and userDefineLang.xml into npp.x.x.bin\unicode.
and
2. Put mel.api into npp.x.x.bin\unicode\plugins

Its nice already but I see drawbacks: highlighting is not enabled if there is a ; right behind the command, or if the command is enclosed in ``.
.. my auto completion doesn't work as welll .. but might not be your fault. am I missing something?
